Centro Ceramico has a multi-year experience in the field of Advanced Ceramic Materials and carries out Research and Experimentation activities both on the development and on the characterization of this class of materials.
Among the latest research topics, there are:

  • development and the characterization of nanostructured ceramic and ceramic composites;
  • development of technical ceramics for biomedical applications; (see Bioceramics);
  • improvement and further modification of conventional shaping technique (SC-Slip Casting, PSC-Pressure Slip Casting, IM-Injection Moulding).

Advanced technical ceramics are a strategic class of materials used in several important fields as mechanics, transport, aerospace, military applications, biomedical. The research on this class of materials is moving towards new trends due to the continuous technological progresses in the shaping and sintering techniques and due to the innovative properties of the raw materials.
Beyond the research activities CC carries out tests and proofs for the characterization of the materials on behalf of Advanced Technical Ceramics Manufacturers and renders assistance to them for all the phases that regard the whole production cycle.
