Chamber furnace for firing up to 1700 °C and 1800 °C

To study, develop and characterize the different materials, it is necessary to be able to carry out thermal treatments even at high temperatures.
he chamber oven for cooking at high temperatures of the Ceramic Center is able to operate at a maximum temperature of 1800 ° C. It allows to make:

  • sintering or firing of materials and products
  • delopment of thermal treatment of materials
  • study and assessment of the effects of different thermal treatments on the properties of the materials.

Technical features of the instrument

The furnace is the HTN 40-18 model, Nannetti s.r.l., Faenza (I) with the following technical characteristics:

  • MoSi2 heating elements
  • internal volume: 31 L
  • maximum temperature: 1800 °C
  • operating temperature: 1700 °C
  • chamber dimensions: (h) 33 x (l) 29 x (p) 33 cm.

Services to industry

By this oven, the laboratory is able to offer the following services to Companies:

  • development of sintering and firing cycles for materials and products
  • development of thermal treatments for different types of materials, in air and up to 1800 °C
  • study and assessment of the effects of thermal treatments on the properties of the treated materials
  • carrying on of thermal treatments already developed by the Customer
  • tests on refractory materials according to the Standard ASTM C 113.
