The BIM Guidelines for Ceramic Tiles, created by Confindustria Ceramica, were the winner in the “BIM Initiative of the year” category within the BIM & Digital Award 2020. The awards event was held on December 15 last year, with the coordination of Prof. Marcello Balzani, President of the Clust-ER BUILD of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
The implementation of the Guidelines took place thanks to a Working Group, set up within the Technical Standardization Commission of Confindustria Ceramica, with the contribution of associated companies and Barbara Mazzanti of Centro Ceramico about the theoretical/practical validation of the model.
During the awards event, the Jury recognized the great technical and political value of the Guidelines for the entire ceramic sector. The model proposed is characterized by: compliance with national and international Standards; flexibility and adaptability to the needs of the individual company and/or the user; interoperability and ease of application (IFC standard); a model that is intended to be “identifying” and not “homologating” with respect to the sector.
