ICP-OES
Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry + FIAS (hydrides kit for As, Hg, Se and Sb)
This device allows to carry out determinations both qualitative and quantitative concerning the elements in a material, proceeding on the periodic table with a considerable range of concentrations. It meets the need to characterise a raw material or a mix, quantifying the major elements present in large quantities; likewise it can reveal traces of elements in environmental samples.
Technical features of the instrument
The chemical laboratory is equipped with an ICP-OES Optima 3200 XL Series, Perkin Elmer (USA), with the following set up:
- axial positioning of the torch
- glass cyclonic spray chamber (for salt matrixes) and rayon Scott for HF
- SCD detector (Segment-array Charge-coupled-device Detector)
- ECHELLE grating polychromator with spectroscopic range from 167 to 770 nm
- 40 Hz free-running power supply (variable power from 750 to 1500 W).
