This apparatus is used to determine the impact resistance of tiles, by measuring the coefficient of restitution of a steel ball dropped at the centre of the sample from a preset height (reference standard: EN ISO 10545-5).

Technical features of the instrument

The device is equipped with:

• steel ball (diameter 19±0.05 mm)
• device with electromagnet + driving cylinder for dropping the ball at the center of the sample
• detector to measure the time range between the first and the second impact of the ball.
