The tiling laboratory carries out the Mazaud test by a device that determines the wear resistance of decorated ceramic tiles, according to Cahier CSTB 3778_V4 10/2020, Annex 10.

Technical features of the instrument

The device is equipped with:

• a sample holder perpendicular to the axis of the load (590 ± 2N), which rotates on a horizontal plane at a speed of 93 ± 2 rev/min driven by a constant speed motor
• a rev counter that allow to stop the test after 22,320 revolutions, corresponding to a path of 14,000 m
• an austenitic steel wheel, with diameter of 50 mm (0 ÷ 1 mm) and width 20 mm (0 ÷ 1 mm).
