The patent concerns a method for the manufcture of ceramic tiles, of the class of porcelain stoneware, which uses high amounts of vitrified waste material (exhaust lime from acid pollutant control systems for industrial emissions into the atmosphere, glass wastes from separate collection and wastes from minerals extraction plants) in place of natural raw materials (feldspars). The optimisation of the ratio vitrified waste/clays allows to achieve, already at 1000 ° C, products with physical-mechanical performance similar and/or better to those of a traditional porcelain stoneware, sintered at higher temperatures.

Photocatalytic ceramic artiche and method for its production

The patent concerns both a ceramic product, in particular ceramic tiles, with photocatalytic surface and its manufacturing method. These products are made by application of a suspension of TiO2 on the surface. The tiles with photocatalytic properties obtained, when irradiated by sunlight, are able to decompose air pollutants, such as organic substances and nitrogen oxides.
