Project Description
The laboratory carries out tests for the mechanical characterization of ceramic materials. By the bending test, carried out both on green and fired samples, information are achieved about the mechanical behaviour that the tested materials will have at different phases of the manufacturing cycle. By the indentation tests, it is possible to achieve hardness data and carry out fracture toughness tests (Vickers indentation).
The tests carried out are:
- 3- and 4-points bending strength on green and dried or fired samples
- Vickers hardness tests
- fracture toughness tests (Vickers indentation).
