Ceramic surfaces and treatments

The purpose is the study and analysis of ceramic surfaces, even with any surface treatments (e.g. anti-slip, protective, photocatalytic treatments, etc…), therefore the correlation between chemical-microstructural characteristics and surface performance of the tile.
The durability of any surface treatment is also assessed.
Here are some tests included in the package:

• Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) + energy dispersive microanalysis (EDS)

• Optical microscopy (OM)

• Optical profilometry, confocal or interferometric

• Image analysis

• Chemical, physical and mechanical characterisation tests: chemical resistance, stains resistance, slip resistance, abrasion resistance, cleanability, frost resistance, scratch resistance, antibacterial, colorimetric measurements, reflectance, photocatalysis, wettability, etc.
