Assistance for ceramic mix

Assistance is provided to Companies that mean to develop a new mix: characterization and suggestions for any improvements, as well as replacement of natural raw materials with waste materials from other manufacturing cycles and assessment of content of unwanted pollutants (e.g. chlorine, fluorine, sulfur and heavy metals).
Here are some tests included in the package:

• Chemical, quantitative mineralogical (Rietveld Method) and particle-size analyses of raw materials
• Drying behaviour (Bigot Curve for clay tiles)
• Firing behaviour: TG-DTA and/or dilatometric analysis
• Firing behaviour: vitrification and determination of shrinkage and absorption
• Colour measurements on fired specimens
• Microstructural analysis
• Semi-industrial tests
• Heavy metal release tests
• Radioactivity measurements.

As possibile conclusion of the study: characterisation of the finished product.
