Metal Marking – surface deterioration of tableware

Despite a short use, sometimes the ceramic tableware can highlight spots, rings, tarnishing, crazing, chipping: in addition to the aesthetic damage, these defects do not allow adequate hygienisation of the wares, early precluding their use.
Such defects can arise from different causes, related to the quality of the glazes and of the ceramic body, the manufacturing process and/or to an inadequate washing.
The aim of the package is to offer the planning of different types of tests, depending on the defect showed:

Tests relating to the glaze

  • Chemical resistance
  • Mechanical dishwashing resistance of utensils Rapid test for domestic and catering ceramic articles
  • Microstructural analysis (porosity, by SEM)
  • Analysis of the surface texture (roughness and topography)
  • Analysis of the chemical composition
  • Dilatometry
  • Crazing resistance.

Tests relating to body and shape

  • Dilatometry
  • Analysis of the chemical composition
  • Thermal shocks
  • Impact resistance.

It is possible, by agreement with the company, plan a study aimed at the resolution of any problems and/or improvement of the characteristics.
